Ramage Distribution Goes Into Administration

Harry Monk:
It’s a shame for the people involved, but at the end of the day their clients will still need to get their goods moved and so the jobs have not “disappeared” but will simply move elsewhere.

True Harry, but one thing is the depot at Glespin is located in a rural area and chances are the work will bedone outta the central belt now it will be a huge blow to the area loosing a large employer.

Aye, Glespin was in the middle of nowhere and i know at least a couple of the drivers were from Glespin and Douglas (next town down from Glespin), so they are going to have to travel a bit to get work now.

I’m still down a week and a half’s wages plus a saturday overtime and a days in lieu i worked for the bank holiday, but at least i still have a wage coming in now.

Oh and got a letter through from KPMG this morning to say about claiming wages, expenses back from them. We shall see whether i get anything though.

xrt mcpheresons looking for shunt/road drivers out of leven £8.50 an hour and theyll put you through your ADR tanks/packages
but the jobs not for the faint hearted
pm me if you want the number or look on jobcentre website
and if you get a start learn to say NO

Cheers m8, saw that but i’ll stick with Pollocks for the moment. I’ve only just started driving the big stuff about 4 months ago but once i get more experience i’ll look elsewhere maybe. Just now i know where to go with most of the stuff, etc so i’m comfortable doing that, but cheers anyway

theyll take you on no probs sod pollocks

Seen quite a few Ramage units running solo southbound on the A90 between Aberdeen and Perth on Saturday. Also spotted some of their units in Curries yard at Dumfries on Sunday.

Stay clear of McPherson’s at Diageo in Leven, i worked there for a year. All you do is load casks for the DU all day and do the occasional van for Blackgrange.

You get a hard time if you don’t do overtime like every evening and on a saturday morning, not good if you have a dodgy back etc.

Yes, they put you through ADR but they tried to charge me for the accomodation up at Aberlour for the week on top of the ADR course but i left before they recouped all the money ;~)

Stick at Pollocks, you go like **** for them all day long, but it’s easy work compared to McPherson’s…

couple of lads that work for curries, where saying they had taken on some of there other work!

andy smg, yep that was all our hired units heading back to the hire company, so thats them well and truly done for now!

Its a sad sight to see when you know the circumstances of their departure. Hope you get something sorted out in the job front soon.
