STOP FEEDING THESE TROLLS
Lighten up man, it’s just a bit of Sunday morning fun.
As I said, if you either turn the tables on them by taking them serious, or take the ■■■■ it ain’t having the desired effect.
Desired effect is…Getting angry, hoying abuse about or putting stuff (in block capitals) like
‘STOP FEEDING TROLLS’…oh hang on a minute, that’s what you posted.
Let’s face it mare, whatever tf you put, or even if you ignore them, they are part of modern forums that will never go away whatever you do, so just do what you think ■■■■■■ them off the most I reck.
Not a troll. Was a serious question
It is indeed a serious question, the answer can be found on any DCPC course if only you pay attention; the lorry immediately takes a screenshot of your face which sadly is the only memory of you that your family will have because you’ll have been transported to Narnia. Hth.

The likelyhood of two counter rotating straight cut gears going into mesh at the speeds being mentioned are between not a chance in hell to absolutely impossible.
I am not saying such penisollogy wont cause a massive malfunction, but connect the transmission. It totally will not. Ever. This is right up there with chalk around the wheels at your friendly RDC.
It depends on the definition of ‘automatic transmission’.
If it’s a torque converter type there is no meshing of any gears or dogs the gears are planetry fixed units.
The gear selection is done by engaging and disengaging clutch packs on the relevant shafts for the relevant gear sets.
So assuming an Allison with electro selection all bets are off assuming no interlock out switching.
We now just need someone to donate a nice new dustcart to test the theory having removed any interlock switch.
The Allison box that I was unfortunate to have come across wouldn’t engage drive if the revs were too high - so unlikely to find reverse unless certain conditions were met.
I am very pleased, nay, ecstatic to say that that truck is now history, probably gone for export
The technology to stop you from making wrong changes has been about for years.
The air-powered ZF gearbox fitted to the V10 LPS 1932 mercs (IIRC from about 1973) had a control unit monitoring
road speed & would shut off the air supply if the selected gear was beyond the gearbox parameters.
You could still miss gears out though, for example 2-4-6-8 etc…

First ever…Full auto Skarniar that came out, I dared my mate to whack it in reverse whilst he was on the A1. He did so and all that happened was a loud beep and nuetral.
My big brother who was a van boy for Millers Pies all those years ago, worked with a complete looney of a driver who tried and was eventually successful in engaging reverse gear whilst going forwards at 50mph in a BMC van. It grenaded the gearbox and well as shooting both of them and the entire van load of pies into the windscreen.
hope they were ok but I would have paid an awful lot of money to see that.
I was driving an old motor last year with a Gardner 4LK, my missus pointed something out to me so I shoved this thing in reverse from flat out, jumped out of the cockpit and tied it up to the bollards I was on my second pint by the time she found me. You cant beat a narrow boat.
