pump trucks

Uk Law doesn’t allowes you to operate a Pumptruck if you have no Safety Boots.
Then,if you lift supspension on Tractor and lower Trailer will Pallet run from self.
Just bring than how many Pallets you broke down till they stopped your Work

There is no weight maximums as far as H&S are concerned however, under the Health and Safety Regs, a person is only permitted to lift what they are comfortable with, hence the reason 25kg bags of cement are no more :sunglasses:

Just because one person is happy lifting heavy weights does not mean another has to do it as well.

eg, If an employee was to injure themselves lifting or pulling a 30kg item, they would not have a leg to stand on when it comes to a claim, however, if the employer instructed them to carryout the lifting etc then the company is liable, although the employee can refuse and seek recompense if dismissed for doing so under H&S welfare.

Remember, the number one point of H&S is that you are legally responsible for your own safety and that of others around you, so feel free to tell your boss to sling his hook

either use the pump truck or carry all the 20kg boxes to the rear of the trailer and stack them on pallets  . I know which I would sooner use

Done my back a few years ago doing exactly what you’ve been doing. Iwas off work for four weeks, employer said I should have realised pallet was too heavy therefore I was responsible for my own injury. Result, no pay. Got solicitor on it and got pay back. Made redundant 3 weeks later. Now I absolutly refuse to move any pallet with a pump truck , that I consider too heavy. Have had some interesting discussions with present employer over this but when I have asked for an instruction in writing about moving heavy pallets, they have always backed off. If YOU think it’s too heavy then DON’T move it. Remember, they will ALWAYS try to shift responsibility onto you for any injury you receive. You only get one back mate, so protect it.

I have no idea what the limits are but most companies here ask if you can move up to 450lbs with a pallet truck.
I did a drop in a back street in Boston one day with 10 pallets of small bags that only stood about a foot above the pallet, ‘Easy’ I thought but couldn’t move the things :exclamation: They were ground garnet and each small pallet was over a ton :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

I took the load back and refuse to go there again. Each time they send someone new and he refuses to do it again.

The answer is simple ;- DONT DO WHAT YOU DONT FEEL IS SAFE :exclamation:

Jesus, there are some ole wimmen on here!!!
Pauly, I hope you never get sent to the London Markets with a fridge. 13 drops and 26 pallets of cucumbers and tomatoes will have you crying

The answer is simple …

But to answer the question dont move what your not comfortable to move without the use of a forklift or hand truck thingy …At the end of the day it is upto you what you do and not upto some ■■■■ sat in the office on the other end of the phone . I f someone on the phone tries to make you move something you dont to move manually and then sack you for it then there not worth working for anyway …

Luckily though any outside deliveries we do the goods cant be moved without specalist forklifts anyway and the other types of pallet we carry are to heavy to unload manually . No forklift no empty lorry simple …
