We had fun over there mate, it was a mad, bad dangerous place but I miss it. :frowning:

Well best find some thing to sit on and open a can or two; Hears a couple of pictures from the first Nomads Team, based in that run down hotel called the Bristol in Tuzla. 1st & 2nd floors was for limbless wounded soldiers, then our floor and the Local mafia on top floor. No electricity & water once a week, never knew when they would switch on the power as it came from the Serbs over the front lines. Anyway picture is with Bianca Jagger, the wife of Mike jagger. She was a UN Ambassordor. The Nomads gave her a lift up to Tuzla from Cenitzer when UNHCR said it was too dangours for them to travel, she heard that the Nomads was running so she got a ride, really upset the security people in UNHCR when they found out, haha.
The next picture is when Jerry Swallow got blown up :open_mouth: the truck he was driving took a mortor round that hit right between two trucks, ripping the back tyers of one truck and pepering the front of jerrys truck. bloody lucky not to lose an eye, he still has a peice of shrapnel in his head.
And a short storie about β€œAction-Man” when we went to America for the Iraq War :sunglasses:
Durring the introduction at a big confrence centre we found ourselves amongst 400 truck drivers (mainly Yanks but some Brits) who really had not much experiance of what they were going to be doing, so they were all taking it very serious  Unlike us BCT drivers. So part of the training was to dress up in what was supposed to be Chemical warfare suits & gas masks. We had to done these yellow plastic suits & use duck tape to seal all opeinings like ankels & Rists, then they would come to each group & check. Well we give Tony a size XXXL   we put him in this giant suit and twist the top around & into a knot that is now sitting ontop of his head, pull up the trouser legs and tape of the ankels & rists, split the zipper around what should be the belly-button area and fix the mask in place. Now by know we are all in peices laughing but hiddding tony from veiw, he looked like a cross between the michilin man and a demented telly tubby   So all these Americans are in groups & when the instructors come round to check they are all very serious, untill they come to our team :stuck_out_tongue: with 400 people looking on we presented β€œAction-Man” who then started jumping around to the tune of the telly tubbys, we by then were all on the floor gasping for breath and what made it worse was that the yanks did not see the funny side or had never heard of the T- tubys
Bob Charman had a wicked sence of humour as well. :smiling_imp: The line of Americans sitting in front of us all left there gas masks on the table when we got a smoke break, so putting talk powder in the insides of there masks behind the rubber seals then placed them back on the table. Knowing that once a class is back we will get the gas alarm, wereupon everybody dons there gas mask takes a big breath and shouts Gas Gas Gas, so suddenly there these yanks all going potty with white faces and coughing up talk while ripping off there masks    :unamused:
thankfully we were not destined to be working with those Drivers, we were going to the Embassy as its transport team.
