Professional Driver/Damage To Vehicles

Maybe not nearside nick, but you have provided your own name, posted pics of a truck with your companies name all over it and referred many times to your ex “colleagues” in a very derogatory manner, the world wide web is global but is also local

True, no offence intended to any individual and apologies if I have caused any.
Now I have learnt a lesson, perhaps those of us who used to work together can all now move on.

Regards,
Nick.

^^^^^ BULLS HIT

so what would you do?
finish work at midday on friday, ship the lorry, get the wife to pick you up. then you have to wait until tuesday to pick the lorry up resulting in a short week, and less money?
or
finnish work at midday friday, service the lorry on saturday morning, then set off down the road on sunday on a good paying trip with an extra £100 in your pocket for doing a service?

i’m not talking about rebuiling the engine, just servicing it. :unamused:

I’m really not sure I’d want 30+ litres of used truck oil at home that the council tip wouldn’t welcome either.

I suppose you could decant it into a sealed container and drop it at the yard eventually but it starts to look like more trouble than it’s worth.

I thing it’s fair enough for drivers when there’s a bonus for no vehicle damage and then it might make financial sense to fix small stuff yourself. When I’m at main dealer’s parts counters drivers often pop in and buy adblue caps which I guess they’re paying for themselves - always feel like telling 'em there’s cheaper places.

I don’t think drivers can or should be expected to pay for accidental damage particularly when a lot is down to untidy yards and farms on drops.

Used to go to a farm where every visit the farmer would watch me spend 15 mins shunting about to get round this rusty old harrow thing dumped in the grass. Would have taken him 5 mins to move it with a telehandler or something. Did he ever? No.

Harry Monk:
There is no way in the world I would ever pay a penny towards damage I did at work.

Even a McDonalds burger flipper doesn’t have to pay for a burger he accidentally drops on the floor, and it amazes me that so many truck drivers consider themselves to be lower down the pecking order than that.

No wonder we are treated so badly when there are so many pathetic forelock-tuggers in our midst. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
