Seems like the company got off lightly with a £5k fine, I would have took them out for more. Just goes to show that most companies don’t go be a monkeys about their drivers doesn’t it…

That attitude sadly seems to be getting more frequent these days in haulage, especially with a lot of the big firms. I have worked for both types of firms and have found that the ones who treat their drivers like grown ups with a bit of respect get more out of them, but the bad firms just don’t see that, so I say it serves the ■■■■■■■■ right.
