The frustrating aspect of this is that there is not a lot which can be done effectively and quickly. I heard our Home Secretary on the radio today saying that Britain is far too attractive for migrants and our immigration system affords them far too much in the way of benefits, so she plans to put a stop to it.
I almost rang in to tell her that she was talking nonsense as we’ve all had it on good authority (including numerous links) that Britain is no more attractive than anywhere else in Europe.
If I call an ambulance in France or preferably Switzerland for exhaustion caused by swimming or sunbathing they will charge me for any treatment and charge me for the cost of repatriation if I refuse to leave.It won’t make me Swiss let alone at the cost of the Swiss taxpayer to then keep me.

if a vessel is in genuine trouble through no fault of their own and places a may day call the NEAREST vessel should go and rescue them and take them to the NEAREST place of safety. That is the maritime law the lefties and weak willed gov officials like to quote wrongly.
The reality is if you set off in a dinghy with 70+ people onboard you are putting yourselves in danger or are you going with franglaise’s theory that they are forced at gun point onto these boats. they are then escorted by the french navy to the 12 mile limit so the nearest ship is the french navy not the british coastguard. If the british coastguard does for some freak set of circumstances happen to be nearer then they should be taken to france as that is the nearest point of safety. Its as simple as that.

Then when starting to verbally ‘‘roll their ‘‘R’‘s smugly shouting ….Rrrrrrrr it then suddenlly becomes .. ‘‘Oooooh’‘ when it then dawn’s on them that both Home Sec Mahmood and Zia Yusef although both British are of in fact Asian descent.
