Many professionals attempt to understand the mindset of a classic hunger striker, but unless they’ve walked a mile in their shoes their summations are at best well meaning gobbledygook and at worst hot air.
The simple truth is that none of us know unless we’ve been in that position.
I honestly spoke to a couple of Irish hunger strikers and I feel slightly qualified to state that the reasons behind their strikes were a million miles away from the ones we are discussing.
I still maintain that the RAF strikers are just making a fashion statement.
Blind to it?
Nah they aint blind to it mate, they are somewhere between just ignoring it and actively encouraging it.
These people fit the bill and social and religious profile for their new target voters.
The bit they ARE blind to is the almost guaranteed surge in crimes of all types, and the strong threat of potental terrorism being carried out in our country by these dregs of humanity.
This govt is totally inept, out of touch, out of their depth, not fit for purpose,.and basically f. kin useless.
I have never seen such a bad excuse for a British Government, in my lifetime at least.

Nonsense. Speaking to and studying many cases will give them a better understanding than a casual conversation will. Especially a conversation with one who is part of the perceived enemy.
