A34 North between Winchester and Sutton Scotney, about 14:00 yesterday, one in front one behind another on the near side of the target vehicle which was brought to a stop against the arcan barrier.
Very impressive bit of co-ordinated driving and no metal bent.

Its quite possible you watched them training and the target car was also being driven by a police officer.

Yes they do actually do training out on the motorways with all the other traffic on the roads. I guess it’s the only way they can train new traffic officers to be ready for a “real” situation or even old hand traffic officers to keep their reactions and skills up to a high standard.
They were training on the 4 lane bit of the A1 south of Peterbogghorror the other day and whilst trundling along in the rolling roadblock whilst watching my n/s mirror waiting for the chase car to come hooning up the h/s I idly got to wondering what would happen if I became all civic minded and “helped” the police out by suddenly putting 44 tonne onto the h/s to stop the “criminal” who was approaching at way over the NSL?
I guess I’d be relaxing in a room with stripy windows.

Many years ago, the police wanted to stop a car on M4. They parked artics on H/S and all 3 lanes. Car tried to stop but didn’t make it. Driver dead. and police B00locked afterwards IIRC
If it was a Dark Blue Vectra as the bad guy, then they were doing the very same thing around 1130 ish on the Southbound M40, think it was north of the A34 junction.
they use to do it on the M5 between Exeter and junc 27 a few years back normally on a Tuesday, they had a silver Skoda Octavia VRS they chased, the thing use to go like hot snot with the Volvo’s in hot pursuit 
Seen one today on the m6 three police cars stopped all traffic ran to a ford focus three rows back dragged the driver out into one police car, policeman jumped into the focus and they all took off , not sure if I witnessed a traffic stop or a kidnap !!!
