I,m all for it ban lorries on thew A14 then the A1 followed by the m1 then the M25 ( make that one the first).Just ban lorries from every major trunk in the U.K. between 8 am and 7:59 am the next day.
Go to work guys sit in the truck for a week and then go home suits me !!!.

On Thursday of this week I was coming back from Bedford and joined the A14 from the A428 ,As I was approaching the Girton interchange I saw a copper on the road above me.
He was crouching down and looking eastbound then all of a sudden he stood up and ran about 20ā south leaned over the bridge barrier and then ran back north to his car.
I can only assume (and hope) he was watching for people cutting in at the last minute (coming from the east to make the turn to go north at the junction of the M11) as this is the site of many near missās Iāve had and indeed the site of a fatal crash a few weeks ago.
The two major points for R.T.Aās involving H.G.Vās are at Girton & Huntingdon (Spittles interchange I think) where it seems to be the local sport to see how small a gap you can get into when coming off at these junctions.
A couple of months of the police sitting over these junctions with video cameras prosecuting these people for driving without due care & attention would soon put a stop to it.
Oh by the way one culprit who regularly ( Iāve seen him do it at least a dozen times ) who cuts in at the last minute is a muppet in a red MPV with a large twig on top for his CB.
He travels that stretch almost daily from what I can make out and everytime I see him at Girton he leaves it til heās on the white chevrons 
I think if you introduce an overtaking ban (which would be pointless as I dont see this as the major problem) then there would long lines of H.G.Vās all bunched up together with no room for the cars to get on & off at their junctions which would be excellent as if they couldnt get on the A14 then they couldnāt cut us up anymore could they
I just feel sorry for the poor mut who gets on the A14 at Alconbury from the A1 and wants to go to Cambridge but instead ends up in Felixstowe, because all the lorries were bunched so close together because they werenāt allowed to overtake that ,there wasnāt room for him to get between them at any junction.
I know some on here would say we as proās would leave a gap between us and the vehicle in front big enough for the cars to exit & enter the dual carriageway but to be honest I wouldnāt on purpose I think along the lines that they should REAP WHAT THEY SEW!!!
The best plan would be to turn Cambridge services and Alconbury into a park and ride, then let the buses earn a living carrying all the numptys 
Well its only as daft as suggesting a truck ban between certain times 
Why dosnāt one of the car manufaturers come out with the hover car.
Then the muppets can fly everywhere and leave the roads to us
I have just completed my e-mail to the Police.
The first thing I stated was that the A14 should be turned into a motorway (Three lanes, not two)! Chances ot that happening - NIL!!!
My second point was to get all the slow moving vehicles upto speed. Why do car\van drivers want to go along the A14 at 45mph? This is my pet hate, slow moving cars\vans. They can do 60/70mph so why donāt they. If they donāt like doing that speed then use another route. Chances of happening - NIL!!!
As for overtaking another lorry there is nothing you can do about that! I lift off the gas and let the other guy get past me, others donāt!!! Now if there was a third lane it would not be such a problem.
I do get abit annoyed when I hear things like āno lorries between 7-9amā. We pay a fortune on road tax, of which very little is used on the roads. How about making the car drivers (1 person in 1 car) not be able to use the road between 7-9am unless there are three people in a car! Less cars on the road = more room for all of us. As lorry drivers we can only carry two people in the cab at the most but a coach can carry 52 people!
Thats my two penneth!!! Make it a motorway and get all vehicles moving at the correct speed.
