Franglais:
My point being that if there is a cut-off as you suggested
Negan:
If this were used solely to catch excessive speeders (over 100mph on m/ways, 50 is a 30 etc)
At no point whatsoever did I suggest a cut off.
Try to stay with me here. Those wernt suggested cut offs. Those were examples of excessive speeds worthy of a huge crack down. I notice youve missed the bit about most people caught by this use of resources being only a few mph over. How convenient for you
My mistake. I kind of assumed anyone reading it would know that I wasnt advocating a “dont bother with anyone below that” cut off point. I forgot some people need everything explained in great depth.
Even at that though, Id think 99mph would still be considered excessive speeding dont you?
Why though, despite being told 3 times now what was actually meant, are you still prattling on about it being a cut off?

Forgive me if my mind reading skills aren`t up to speed. I was reading what you wrote.
So, what do you mean by your 100mph example? Or would like to make a more general case?
There is already a sliding scale of penalties. What difference are you suggesting?
The reason I was “prattling on” about a cut-off is because you suggested one. You didn`t use the word “cut-off” but what else does “solely” mean? solely…adverb
not involving anyone or anything else; only.
ONLY…everything else is excluded…cut-off.
Franglais:
Why ask me about publicity campaigns etc? You introduced them.
Because that was the basis of my original comment that you replied to and started this whole thing?
Yes you mentioned publicity campaigns and how much was spent on them.
Negan:
Sploom:
Why would you be against bringing justice to these people?
Ever noticed that the biggest injustices they want to fight and spend resources on are usually the ones with fines attached?
I replied that I hadnt noticed that. You have so far not justified your statement, nor offered any evidence at all to support it. Youve suggested other things and asked questions, but no support for that statement.

No.
I
Didnt.
Whether solely was the right word to use or not is irrelevent now. At this point youve been told 4 times what was meant and are still not grasping it. Im not explaining myself again because if you dont get it now then you never will

And you still need to ask why id mention them to you?
Are you on drugs?

I recall asking you to name a huge drive and massively fan fared unveiling of a crackdon on crimes that didn’t involve a fine. Didnt see you answering that one so unless you have any, you can go ahead and take that as the evidence you want
What about the crimes I suggested back at the start? Victims of stalking? They live in abject fear and get told “Not much we can do, we dont have the resources”. Personally id rather more resources were spent there but im sure spending money to catch people speeding and sending them fines 6 weeks after they did 76 in a 70 limit is a worthwhile use of resources instead

I kinda thought using the correct word was quite important, but… so what were you trying to say with your 100mph example?
We do have a sliding scale of penalties for speeding already.
The equipment is in place. It costs as much to prosecute for 10 over the top as for 30 over the top doesn`t it?
What are you saying?
Sploom:
If you ask them to explain, you hit a brick wall, they just say, yeah, whatever!
robroy:
Nah…cba.
It would be a waste of time and effort.
Game, set, and match, to Sploom.
Oh…are we in a competition ■■
Yeh, what am I like , I forgot how you like to be always right and presume ‘victory’.
Nah it ain’t that mate,.I’m hardly going to get into an argument about believing everything that is released officially with a guy who is a well known serial conformist, who swallowed the whole Covid thing hook line and sinker, to the point where he had a lousy 2020 Christmas and who presumably still wears his mask…
Anyway haven’t you got a Brexit thread to perpetuate and keep bumping to the top.
As for Sploomy, he believes in fairy tales and denounces science so I’m hardly going to attempt to point out a hidden agenda on what they like to sell based on ‘road safety’ now am I, unless I can wrap it around a Bible quote.
I’m all for keeping d/heads on the road in their place but call me old fashioned, but I still prefer the old way of prevention and policing by a high traffic division presence on the roads as it once was,…if you see a patrol car once in a week you’ve seen one more than you did last week.
It’s all about policing by stealth nowadays, cameras, ■■■■ s in tractor units, now drones,.all to increase the coffers…unfortunately not the coppers.
In the old days said police presence kept everybody on their toes, so now they will catch a small percentage with their drones, where as the rest of em are on a daily free for all because there are no, or very few police cars around any more

Nope. I cant recall any huge massively fan-fared drives at all. Doesnt get us far does it?
Since you introduced them you talk about them, don`t keep asking me!

If fining speeding motorists really brings more cash into the public ■■■■■ then I would agree that would be well spent on more funding for the police and more spent on public safety etc.
Increase fines for all speeders and make the streets safer for women. Good idea.
Franglais:

Its been explained to you. 4 times now.
Youre either incredibly stupid or youre trolling
Either way I hope you warmed up because youll do yourself an injury with all that goalpost moving and running around in circles
Franglais:
No, I`m not on drugs.
Well youre doing a ■■■■ good impression of someone who is then
Franglais:
Nope. I can`t recall any huge massively fan-fared drives at all.
And on a thread where the police are promoting yet another targetting of motorists you still feel the need to tell me im wrong?
Franglais:

You cant be naive enough to think that is what happens to the money brought in from fines.
Robroy.
How many idiots have you seen on the roads today? How many drivers have cut you up?
I dont care who reports them,a policeman,a robot or a drone,so long as they have the inconvenience of a fine and points

Instead of just jumping in read the ■■■■ post man.
Especially the bit about ‘Being all for keeping d/heads in their place’ and how proper preventive policing would be a far more efficient way of doing it rather than stealth policing and costly gimmicks like this to primarily raise revenue.
Sploom:
Robroy.

Seriously? You think that drones are going to stop bad behaviour? I wish I shared your optimism. There’s one thing and one thing only that curbs bad behaviour and that’s a fully marked up patrol vehicle. Period. Nothing else comes close. Bad driving isn’t accidental you know, it’s born out of arrogance and a “F you” attitude that comes from knowing that there’s zero chance of being caught.
I dont know. They must only be a fraction of tge cist of a real helicopter or even a patrol car.I tell you where I would like to see one hovering.Right above the elephant and castle junction.Every time I turn left there,a car comes up the middle lane(for going straight on),and then cuts in left.I have to brake to avoid hitting him. This hapoens every single time I use that junction. If you put a patrol car there, they wont do it in front of the police(presumably).I think there is potential in those drones.
Robroy.
Not the raising revenue one,not that old chestnut. But maybe if they raise revenue the rest of us might pay less tax.and pigs might fly,But I will have a look at the post

So you instantly dismiss my point with a casual…‘‘Old chestnut’’
Nah absolute fact, but just you keep believing what you are told mate.
As for the rest of your post?
Not a clue, … you are now arguing with yourself.
Sploom:

Again…arguing with yourself.
So which is the best method of preventative and efficient Road policing then to actually SOLVE the problem ?
A patrol.car or a ■■■■ drone.■■
I would say best method of POLICING to deter crap driving ?
…A hi visible patrol.car.
Best method of collecting revenue BUT the continuation of crap driving …Drone.
So based on recent, present and definitely favoured methods of policing the roads, which one do YOU think they will they favour?
Answers on a post card to…
Rob banging his head against a wall.
Trucknet…
UK.
If you order a pizza, does it have to be delivered by a car or would you be happy for a drone to deliver it?
Me,I would be happy for the drone to deliver it and it was cheaper
