Pocket DAB radio

It’s only just occured to me that instead of waiting until hell freezes over for my employer to fit a DAB radio in the truck, I could get a small DAB radio and run it through my truck radio via an aux in lead, as I do my ipod. I don’t have a Smartphone and have no intention of getting one, so I was wondering about something like this … avbristol.com/product.php/51 … tAodqVAAwA
Has anyone used one of these, or anything similar? Or can anyone recommend anything else?

I’ve got this in my truck. Runs through aux and has a 12/24v charger and glass mount aerial.

Isn’t it only a matter of time before all radio switches to digital? I’m sure I heard something last month about all radio being digital by 2017, I could be wrong about that date.

They keep putting the date back as a lot of people can’t be bothered with it.

I’d go for the pure highway if I was you, I’ve heard lads on here say they’re good unless you have a particular gen to listen to it outside the truck in RDC waiting rooms & what not. You may have reception issues with the little one as well, the highway would have better reception in the truck I’d say.

go Pure Highway

Don’t rely on batteries - they eat them for breakfast…literally.

Had heard that even DAB’s (or “digital radio” as normal people call it) days are numbered with the advent of internet radio.

I’ve got it on the stereo in my cab but never use it as the aerial is rubbish & I can’t stand the signal fade noise, it’s like in jaws when he drags his nails down the black board for me. I can’t even listen to FM on it as it auto switches to DAB.

Luckily I’m an I-POD trucker.

If you are going to use DAB. Get an external aerial.
No ifs, no buts. Just remember, RF doesn’t penetrate metal
