Depends on the other trainee & the instructor tbh

I have done both & both have advantage & disadvantages

thanks for all the shared thoughts. I think it will all be ok I hope. after today i get the feeling there not meaning to try anything on. it just made me uneasy with the number of changes that happend. plus so many people are on the con theses days with times being so hard even otherwise honest people can get temped to start wangling if there backs agaist the wall abit. its alot of money at stake, and in truth i dont know them any more than thay know me so theres alot of trust on both sides having to be taken. I just needed to get a feel for how it sounded to other. alot of mixed replys to the diffrent ways of undergoing training. seems to all come down to personal point of view on whats good and bad. just have to hope it all comes together in the time I have. not exspecting to pass first time around. if i do its a bonus

Youll be sound mate, don’t look with negativity, if you pass first time then happy days, if you fail, at least you know what to expect and can prepare yourself more, I didn’t think i would pass 1st but I did, on class 1 and class 2! Hope all goes well mate!!

Thanks, turns out so far the trainers have been great at there job and seem like very decent people too. feel bad for thinking other wise now. the more time i spend there the more I have to take my hat off to them. these are brave people who have to take total strangers out on the road everyday who are offen total beginers who cant drive a lorry for toffee. its scary being behind the wheel first time out let alone having to be in the passneger seat not knowing what the hell the trainie is going do or how bad there going be. when you think of it its white knucle stuff. dispite this the trainers act as cool as cucumbers. I dont mind betting ither that it wouldnt take much damage to the lorry to kill off any profit that thay hope to make from the hole weeks training fee. I hope I dont let them down and brake anything tomorow or friday.

To be a LGV instructor especially for a first timer in a truck you have to be able to communicate clearly and precisely to the trainee as well as looking and anticipating what is and could happen as far as the eye can see as well as what cannot be seen so that any communication to the trainee comes in plenty of time

The instructor also has to be a very compentant driver and be able to commentate when driving in such a way that the trainee can understand

This is where I found my previous advanced driving and observing a massive help and it is often found that LGV instructors have also passed an advanced driving test

No dual controls either but, for what its worth sometimes, those training do have a basic car licence

10 hours driving class2 training 1:1 i drove all 10 hours passed first go ,

2 hours training for cpc mod 4 £280 inc test and truck hire ,

i wouldnt do 2:1 training extra pressure on eachother if one trainee isnt as good as the other in certain areas wgich would add pressure and make the training uncomfortable for the other , thats just my opinion thou

good luck

That always happens - one trainee will be better in some areas and the other better in others - that is how they learn from each other

Never had one who was better at everything than the other
