Sorry WheelNut no idea. The photo was given to me by Michael Cave on one of my weekend visits to the yard…
Definately in the UK and the Planthaul Bedford CF ■■■■■■ van is behind.
A better glimse of the CF van. I drove it for two trips but broke it quite badly when the engine blew up somewhere in Belgium. I would think it’s still where I left it as no-one bothered to go and collect it. It was quite posh inside, a bed and a proper cooker. Plant and Engeneering next door!
When it was conker season, wide loads took a back seat. Mick Greenham and Mrs, Bill Bailey and Roger Mind that Bridge.
Niknak…Do you remember one of the subbies…Mike Fisher? Had this F16 - F116 BNH Brand new and went on for Michael Cave, done a lot of work to Greece many moons ago

Nearly forgot, EPH, Planthaul, MCL, MCL (Europe) Then… Vanguard International! (That was until he and his staff got marched out of the office.)21
Hi Nicknak, is the subbie with the turbostar Chris Everett from Braintree. I seem to remember him working for Vanguard.
Also is the Robbie Watson the same, who went on to work in the office with Essex International and later formed Wessex International of Findon?? if so he had numerous contacts abroad and lots of loads back from Merzarrio’s in Italy. Regards Jamie.

FFS could you imagine a driver getting in a sub 300bhp motor now & setting off down the road with that up his chuff…Top picture that…I had the unfortunate experience of being allocated an F7 once, not the fastest lorry, I only had it for a week before it was swapped for an F10, real power and still nowhere near 300hp
Can you imagine being told you would be having a left ■■■■■■ Volvo for international low loader work? You’d be thinking an F12, maybe a Globey if you were lucky, then that F7 turns up in the yard

I was driving an ERF or Atkinson delivering hand ball brick loads just before I started at Planthaul, I didn’t mind that much, the bigger motor you had, the more agro (and the same money!)
Does anyone know what happened to Planthaul?

The name was Nick, had a moustache and a lot more good looking than Bob (Cosgrove).
I ran with Danny a few times, he was a brave bloke, and not just because of the Foden. He wasn’t a big bloke, but he’d take anyone on. I thought I was going to end up in hospital a couple of times! If you’re still in touch with him, send him my best!!

He came from Maulden, but used to park in Clophill, you might also have known his brother Dave? who also did some work for Michael Cave at some stage.
