Rob K:
Why didn’t you REPLY to the thread you’re referring to instead of starting a new topic asking questions about a thread which we can’t even see because you’ve cocked it all up? Is the REPLY button in the bottom corner really that hard to see?
Sorry, Mr Mardyarse, Ijust thought this seemed to be a newbie type of question.

They use pink chalk because it is not easy to get hold of. If they used white you could rub the marks out - go out and do a shed load of deliveries and be back on the bay 9 hours later with the chalk marks re-drawn when they came back to check. When I was delivering to Bettabuys in Weatherfield on 25th Jan 2010 they used tartan chalk, but that was VOSA not the Police.

this might be true ,but in the seventies word was that the hush puppy night trunk carried left shoes one night and right shoes the next night.it may have been true who knows.
That is not the first time I have heard that. my mate was bringing shoes back from Italy and he reckoned they were all handed
Any time I brought shoes back from Italy, usually from around Prato John, they were always in pairs, and yes they did have my size.

I once loaded expensive shoes out of a warehouse near Milan, a full load in by handball (in boxes) and was told they were all one sided, and another draw bar was due in to load ther partners… unusually for Murfitts I was given places to park each night on the way home (all secure haulage yards) and on tipping at a DHL warehouse near Purfleet the guys tipping gave a similar story about what a pain this job was as they had to wait for the second load to repackage and match up the shoes. I cant say for sure that they were sent seperatly as i couldnt be arsed at the time to take a look and see but have no reason think the guys were joking
but a driver turned up at Netto 1 day to tip the guy in warehouse asked him to tip but he refused ( he was an o/d as well ) so they said he would have to take it away he said he couldnt & he was nearly out of time so police called they eventually sorted something out police signed back of tach so he could get to safe secure parking
I can remember a couple of years ago when I along with a few other drivers were held up tipping in Tesco’s old RDC at Crick around christmas time, the manager appeared, apologised, and then took us all up to the canteen and gave us a free xmas dinner, no im not on drugs and no i didnt dream it
