hi Dan its a good job your not off to Germany with the tails of the straps stowed like that, they do not like that, and you would need the wheels off the bed and rubber between the rails of the roro and the bed of the trailer, and between the genset etc and the floor of the roro, nice outfit though.

Thank you , I know what your saying , I was once detained by the Austrians for 2 hours at the bottom of the brenner ,they gave up and let me go it was a Saturday and I still don’t know what they wanted
I’m surprised as an owner driver Dan that you haven’t maximised the comfort and living space of your low cab Foden by adding a high roof conversion.
I reckon there are plenty 85 DAF Spacecabs knocking around in breaker’s yards…You can have that idea on me.
Here’s a one that I personally made earlier, early 90s that is…(well, a mate who was much more clever and useful than me made it tbh.)

Funny you should say that. I don’t think the Teutons have ever been very pleased to see us.
My late Dad went out there in 1944 in his Scammel Pioneer and the locals were so cross that they were shooting at him! He did tell me though, that by the time he shipped home in late 1945, they had calmed down noticeably.

It was but I looked it up on dvla a while ago and it’s now marked as exported so think it’s gone to our African friends for another million kms.

It’s running at around 105 degrees C with a peak of 109 degree C when crossing the A66.

I thought that by now the damage bill would be of biblical proportions, but out of 29 that went on the road four weeks ago we have one with the back of the cab stoved in after a missed pin incident, we’ve replaced 6 nearside mirrors, we have two or three with deep grooves gouged into the nearside and we have one that needs a new drivers side door card after the driver tried to repair the non functioning window switch by jamming a screwdriver into the door card in order to prise the switch out and in the process shattered all the plastics. Turns out that there was ■■■■ all wrong with the switch, it was only him pushing it the wrong way!
In time honoured fashion nothing will be said or done to the offenders as nobody really cares about the tools, only about getting the pallets out of the gate!
