you based at Linford? Have been in there most weekends on Asda work, had a reasonable Topline the other day, but the rest of the fleet hasn’t got a patch on yours! Bet I never get your one on a weekend!!!
Looks good.

This is the Mercedes Actros i drive for Fowler Welch Coolchain. Seen here at Sheerness container base. Most of these Mercs are being replaced by new Scanias { unfortunatly}.

‘Unfortunately’ you say Mark? :open_mouth: I’ve only driven a Merc Axor in the recent past and some earlier 1835’s - and I must say compared to a Scania , I’ve found Merc’s to be an absolute pile of **** - give me a Super Swede anyday

We,ve just replaced 15 Actros Megaspace Mercs with Scania Highlines here at FWC, and the drivers are up in arms about it!! I was offerd one myself but decided to keep the Merc, you cant really compaire a 1635 or Axor with a new Megaspace can you!!. Lets throw it out for debait, Megaspace Merc, or Scania Highline?

Unless the Scania had a V8 in it, I’d defo have a Mega Space. I used to tramp in a 480 V8 Mega Space (early model) and loved it for its space and comfort. I didn’t reckon much to the engine, but in fairness it was poorly as it had a dead injector so I’m not really in a position to judge.

Swap a Merc Megaspace for a Scania R420? i dont think so!!

Im in possesion of an 08 1846 actros auto :sunglasses: I think “fenman” has rightly dubbed the scanias as swedish bedfords.

And definitely not for one without wheels !! :stuck_out_tongue:

No I run out of Warwick but work for the Gamston depot. Linford do all the brick work and theres are covered in s***. Canute are a good company the money is good, trucks ok but the trailers are all crap and old but were told there are some new ones coming this year. They supply anything for the truck only polish, the trims I got off Ebay for £30 bargain.

Here’s one that i drive, well one of twenty one of them, all 410’s with auto box and not enough power to pull the skin of a rice pudding,oh well it’s only a job that pays well, but it would be nice that they went aswell as the 430’s they replaced.Paul

and i do get chance to drive a decent truck now and then.

Hi paul, whats the second tank on the daf for. Hardly ad blue?

Hi ellies dad,you are right that is for ad-blue about 200 litres i guess,so if your parked next to one you could always syphon some of as now one would notice.I think daf have stiched them up with with a few extras they did not need, large ad-blue tank and auto sliding fifth wheels, either that or there was a free meal for someone somewhere.Paul

I wouldnt syphon the stuff out. Its pig pee apparently. So if you get cut short and you have one, well you can put it to good use.

Hi Paul

We bought the truck of a man called Stuart Knight from Barnsley. (Anyone know if his whereabouts as I would like to get in contact with him and I lost his details) He stripped the truck and restored it over 4 years. The truck was then painted in the colours that volvo painted the first F12 Globetrotter. A real credit to him.

The F12 reg YKM 460X was originally owned by Maple Leaf Transport of Penzance but Im not sure if they had the truck in the same colours.

Me and my Dad are hoping to get the old girl to Truckfest in Peterborough this year.
