That’s a great photo of a Harold Wood AEC MK3,with a 6 compartment spirit tank, probably 6 x 600 gallons. You can just make out the “Petroleum Spirit Highly Inflammable” sticker on the tank, which was mandatory at that time, but no red flammable liquid diamond visible. I think their Southern depot was at Basildon?

If Anybody’s intrested there’s a Tankfreight drivers reunion been organised for Friday 30th November at the Mossvale Pub in Urmston.Already had two previously with around 35 attending but was suggested it be opened up to any Tanker drivers based in and around trafford park in the 70/80/90s, last time a couple of lads from Reliance tankers turned up as well as a couple of Ranks drivers.
Hoping to spread the net this time - Small world the tanker industry !
[quote=CJA1[ Hi just a quick word about the reunion At the Moss Vale 30th Nov T/F and others about 25+ turned up, all though it was a bad night, very cold and foggy, so well done to those who made it, there will prob be another in the Spring? ER are a few Piccs from the night Cheers Chris.

Sniffy, do you remember Hill gas, TF had a barrel in their colours working out of Immingham. Do you have any pictures of it? My old man used to drive it for a while.Steptoe, yes I remember Hillgas but I can’t find any photo’s, I’m still waiting for Mr brown to find his photo album, I’l bet theres one in there !
Not from Brownie but I got one in the end anyway.
And a couple more, Graham Pearson at the wheel of a 1628
and what looks like a 1729 on contract to Cray Valley Stallingborough
Nice photos Steptoe, Mr Brown still not able to find the album then ?
There must be some more ex Immingham lads around with decent photos, Smithy was never one to miss a photos opportunity when new fleet came in
These were Smithys pictures, my mate dragged them out of a skip years ago, I just noticed them when I was in his loft at the weekend, they are framed ones off the office wall, God knows how many more when in the skip.
