Heckmonwike.
Harold Woods original depot, Wormald street, Heckmondwike.
As it 'appens, many many years ago, I was born down Wormald Street, Heckmond WIKE.
It’s where I got my passion for old AEC’s, H. Woods mostly ran AEC’s in the early days. I’ve had many a day out with some of the old guys during school holidays. In the early 60’s Jimmy Hodgson, was the yard foreman/transport manager.
Happy days.
Kindly loaned to me by John Moor, some intresting stuff on the history of Harold Woods
The man himself
Great history facts. I never realised they were so big with over 500 lorries in 1964
My first artic was an ex Tank Freight motor - Volvo F7 A511 KYG we had A510 KYG as well.

Dave’s tanker trivia question…
Has anybody noticed a markings error?
On Hazchems / without UN… specifically It appears to display a HIN rather than an EAC in the hazchem panel
If not, perhaps in need of a refresher…or a clue !!

Hi Johnnie, Yes it is one of Brennans, I thought I recognised the reg as the one that Alf drove when he was based in Urmston, although the man himself could have driven it before passing it over

I only worked for him a few months as he lost the Anglia Oil contract but he had the only F10 and when he was not driving it it would be parked up as it was based at his home in Retford and there was only 3 of us and Bill based there.
cheers Johnnie
Cheers John, another early Tankfreight Woodies first
Some of the ex Heckmondwike continental drivers
