Photos of Trucks from Tasmania and Australia

I think there might be a brake tester on it as well. So there’s something to brighten up everyone’s day…

Thanks Oily, I ws already subbed to Rod’s Youtube feed, some excellent footage of roadtrains he’s compiled - I’m no rail buff but some of the ones he’s done of trains are outstanding, and he is delightfully direct with fools in the comments

Good link that one.

Jeff…

A few more from round Tasmania.

A bit of Inter Stating from few years ago.
The date stamp on the camera is wrong this would have been late 90’ early 2000’s. These were taken with an old 35mm camera and developed at a quick snap place, so the right hand side of the print has been hacked of. If I ever get round to scanning the negatives I should be able to get a better shot with the trucks in the middle.

Funny how farmers are always pleading poverty but they still manage to get equipment like this.

Lamattina Bros Carrot Express…

Nice bloke driving it though, I ran from Brisbane fruit and veg market to Melbourne with him and he wasn’t really pushing that hard.

One of Freds B doubles taken up the Newell highway some where around the Oxley high way split. I’m in the Pure Fresh Thinking KW fridge on the other side of the road. Never really did like brown a cream as a colour combination but the pay was alright

One of the other guys going north, we were running 36 on that contract, so you usually met at least 1 an hour coming the other way.

Still sitting there, it was only about half an hour all up. A Ruttleys KW with a B Double.

Jeff…

Another fine lot of pics there Jelliot, seeing that brought me to thinking of the Elphinstone EasyLoader and a flickr contact j943a youtube.com/watch?v=u7XdDL-VuMk

and a few from and thanks to Richard Mohr.

Are jelliots pics not working for anyone else ?

Well laden Mack sat at the lights in Dandenong, Melbourne 2011.

That’s dangerous stuff there Blackshadow, taking offspring in the truck with you!! she’ll be signed up for life now, there’s no escaping, her fate is sealed. LOL

Try now Smoggie, I was fiddling about with some stuff earlier on.

I like that AB+ AB that NOX is running makes the Merc look pretty small. The 8 legged Volvo on the trilex looks very shiny.

Great looking Mack hauling wooden crates round Victoria.

The roadside ad for the Woop Woop cafe rang bells (I worked out that way for a while about 15 years ago) so I looked it up - turns out it was (is?) in ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ which is where the Newll and Oxley meet. Nice seeing shots from that time, looks like it was from yonks ago but feels like last week (showing my age or what).

[edit ROFL :grimacing: the site’s auto censor doesn’t like mention of C00nabarabran]

Like that F10, must have been a few years ago when that was taken.

I was filling up this afternoon on the way back to the yard when this pulled in…

While I waited for the pump to finish I asked the driver if I could take a snap and he seemed quite happy, so I quizzed him a bit more. The Mack Ultraliner isn’t his motor so he wasn’t sure how old it is (but guessed at about 12 years old), and said it goes well. The badge says “Mack 525” but I didn’t hear it pulling - if I had there’d be no mistaking a Mack V8, and with an 18-sp RoadRanger box it probably goes as good as it looks. I’m not all that familiar with these but if I had to guess I’d say it’s nearer 20 years old than 12.

■■■■■■ the first time I went that way there was a fantastic sunset as I was climbing up the old volcanic caldera. I always liked the Warrumbungles. I had a mate that was doing Astrophysics and he spent a lot of time working between Parks and Siding Springs so I got to have a look through the big telescope one night when I went to see him. He was complaining about saturated light pollution spoiling his view when he was looking at horizon shots and thinking I was being clever I asked him if it was coming from Brisbane. No Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai were the main culprits, New Delhi
Mumbai and Calcuta if he was looking a bit more to the west.

That place where I took the photos was where the RTA used to do the spot checks at night. Every time I passed that way it always seemed to be desperately hot and very dry, the sheep in the paddocks looked like they were eating dust.

That Ultruliner looks like it came from the late 90’s early 2000’s at the latest did it have a Mack or Renault motor in it?

Sorry about the Mack B Double I can see it’s lumber on flat top ISO’s and a fair bit of weight as well.

Jeff…

never mind the photos jeff , you’ve got half of the old timers ( me included ) waiting with bated breath for episode 2 on the other thread .
