Permission Is Requested

I live at number 788, the number is clearly marked at each side of the drive with 8" high black numbers on a white background, it also has the number in 4" high brass on the gate, but HDNL still cannot find it and take parcels back to the depot!!

A previous house was in a road where there were no numbers, just names, yet we never had a problem.

Worse than that is the address:

Green Lane Cottage
Green Lane
Local Village
Postcode that’s nowhere near.

Our village is like that, there are only two postcodes for the whole village so if you use it to try and find us you don’t even end up on the right street never mind the right house. Then as a bonus almost all of the houses in the village have names and not numbers. Thankfully almost everyone in the village knows almost everyone else so you only have to ask any random passer by and you can find us.

I know when I did a month on at Christmas for Parcelforce a couple of years back I was much happier working in the town estates than the rural areas as stuff was much easier to find.

Houses called “The OldForge/Dairy/Station” etc that are brand new and unless you know local history then you’d be stuffed.
Old pubs are fairly easy (unless flattened) as many still have the old sign brackets still on the wall or the brewerys’ name on a sign near the front door.
