If wages to cost of living were similar to that of the 60’s, Then the average skilled/semi skilled wage in this country would be around £2000.00 per week.
For example. When my Dad bought his house it cost around £2000. His take home wage at the time was £25 per week.
When he retired he took home around £500 per week and the house was valued at around £165000.00.
His wages had increased by 20 times, and his house like most in the area had increased by over 80 times.
It’s the same with food, gas and electric.
