Pay Dispute

the wtd states that if you are off for one day holiday sick etc you must put in 8 hours
if you are off for one week holiday sick etc then 48 hours go in

A total of 20 days per year count towards your wtd average at 8 hours per day. Any days after this count as zero. So given that the holiday for full time workers is now 28 days per year, you get 8 days free gratis towards the wtd right there usually paid for.

Not quite…
8 hours per day if less than one week
48 hours if a full WEEK is taken - Reading the regs I make that to mean all the days in that fixed WEEK (mon 0000 to sun 2400) but if anyone can show that to be different then please do so…

we get paid for breaks.
we get paid for the hours we are in work,i.e 12hrs in work = 12 hrs pay !

i know how to get them to change their minds.
work through your break, and hope vosa don’t pull you, then hand in your tacho’s.
when they go ape [zb] about you working all day without a break, then tell them it is their fault, as they won’t pay for your breaks any longer.
personally, if my boss tried to knock any of my money off me for breaks, then i would park the thing up, and [zb] off home.

Only for 4 weeks of your 5.6 weeks entitlement and any extra days the company give you to bring you in line with the WTD also do not need 8 hours booking.

Of all the people I work for only two (out of ten or more) pay breaks. The rest insist I deduct my first 45min tacho break when I invoice them. They will all pay the second one though if necessary.

Me too!

i get deducted an hour but i easily get that back while reading the paper on the loo, or simply being on a bay for a few hours and pretending u never noticed the green light there are ways and means if i want 12 hrs pay i work 13 but one has to realise 5 of them hours were spent asleep on my bunk
