PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Hi Dean ,
You’ve also kindly shared a picture of that same Fiat when it was later owned by J&M Transport,I remember my father painting it into their colours. Please keep them coming.

Hi Dean. Welcome back. In the photo with the J&W Merc is an old Morris Oxford. Looks in good condition too. Probably outlived the Marina also in the photo by many years.
The Evans of Porthcawl Fiat may well of subbed to J&M as the colour looks similar. Pretty sure Andrew would know.
Regards Paul

Anyone recognise the Seddon Atkinson live stock truck ■■? Could have belonged to Burgess Bros, farmers from near Andover. They had a box like that on a Bedford KM and had it extended (as in the new aluminum at the front of the trailer) and put on a trailer pulled by a green SA400, the photo even looks like the A303.
Pete

Thanks for the possible name Pete !

Billy"Trader"Horn was a hard taskmaster, did not suffer fools gladly as they say. I had 3 different Comets(2 artics 1 wagon and drag) in my time there, all totally reliable.

Hi Dean.
The AEC MK3 Mammoth Major was based at Barking depot and was on contract to Esso Purfleet on white spirit haulage, another ex Shell Mex and BP wagon. I once took it to load for Slough whilst my AEC MK5 was having a repair done in the Barking VMU,would be 1969 0r 70,not sure. I sent an article to one of the mags about it…………
I believe the photo is one of Peter Davies’.

History here Dean and Paul… wayforbulk.com/history/index.html first fleet Renaults(2) 2006 which figures with Paul’s pic and I would guess a different livery for the scrap metal wagons.

Good morning Dean,
If i remember rightly Forest Thinnings were a small company, only a few trucks that ran from home with a facility in a woodland near Ringwood.
My old brain tells me this ERF could have been one I sold them that I took in from a Company in Kings Somborne called Barker & Geary, but, I could be wrong. Harvey
