PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Kempston:
Thanks DEANB, I have today found my photos, I’m meeting my sister Wednesday and am hoping she can show me how to scan them and post them on here. I have some of the Foden he had after the AEC was retired with a couple of shots of me in it. Believe it or not I used to drive it around building sites! Can you imagine being able to do that today! The driver can barely drive onto a building site nowadays without someone walking in front waving a red flag. The Foden reg was SNK 316R fleet no.DGS82

“Kempston” Excellent fire the old scanner up and lets see the pics !

Heres a few of E.Hull’s.

Hi DEAN ,great shot of Atki XDE 15J ,that was ex Albert Vaughn Haverford west ,and later with Charles Footman ,be good to know if she is in preservation ,regards Keith

HR.JPGThis ERF ‘E’ Series Reg No H19 RRT is seen here being operated by Harold Read of Longhope Gloucestershire.

H19 RRT was originally registered new in January 1991 to Richard Read also of Longhope in Gloucestershire.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Commercial Collections had the last 2 Gardner powered ERFs to built as the owner was a dyed in the wool Gardner man
Sadly they were replaced by ■■■■■■■ engines due to reliability problems

Interesting Dean. I never drove an automatic in my time on the road, I wasn’t fussed, I’d had an auto Toyota Cressida n weren’t that mad for it. When I was on the opencast Shand bought 6 Terex trucks, 5 had semi electric boxes, a joy to use, then mine ,of course, a fully automatic. All went well for the first year or so then one day I’m loaded pulling hard up a steep ramp in third. She takes it into her mind to drop into first. Holey moley she nearly put me through the screen. God only knows what revs she managed. The guy behind me, who answered to the name Camel W**ker, came close to decapitating his self. Soon after she was converted to semi box. That’s her in the pic, I’m the good looking fella in the hat. Cheers Paul

WE , BOUGHT THAT WILKOS ATKI UAE 537 T , JUST A BIT OF USELESS INFO CHEERS BARRY

That S21 Foden in Tilcon livery was a concrete pump I think, a lad who was on the same HGV course as me at Slaters Transport near Pickering in 1976 to get our class 2 licence was going to drive one of those when he passed. He was Bradford based, I wonder where that pic was taken?

It was still hanging about as a chassis cab in the north west until quite recently (2/3 years ago) but I believe it was eventually cut
