Yep we used to take air freight in to Panalpina in the late 80s. It was a late run fighting my way through Bradford, the drop was near the town centre , City rd / Rebecca st ,

I found that photo recently looks like it’s going for scrap, or something like that, I left Singletons in 1989 ,

The other day I posted a pic I found online of a Foden I once drove, whilst simultaneously grumbling that one never finds pics of lorries one drove on the internet. Well, this morning I stumbled upon another lorry wot I driv floating around in cyberspace. I did Morocco in this one.

I don’t know why but I never did like that Leyland type cab. I’m sure it will have many admirers…but not this old fella.

The Cabtec cab was launched jointly by Pegaso (Troner) and DAF in 1988, and also fitted on the Seddon-Atkinson Stratos, and the last Leylands..

Yes, I drove the Strato version: not a patch on the DAF!

I would have thought they would have been a big stride forward compared with the other offerings of the mid 60s GOM. I thought AECs version always looked better than Leylands. The AEC version changed very little from launch compared with the several updated versions of the Leyland.

Those Renaults were a very spacious cab , we had two where i worked.

I see Colemans has the tracks chained, but used them all up so needs a couple of helpers to stop the bucket swinging.

The cabs in my opinion were second to none at the time and much better than the Premiums that replaced them .A backward step .The gearbox was notchy but i could put up with that.Chalk and cheese compared with the 290 GT i had
