Was it not Barnfather & Wilks ? or am I past it Buzzer

Yes Buzzer Barnfather and Wilks from County Durham did a lot out of Thorn Industries light bulbs etc.

You missed out to word VERY…he was a VERY unsavoury chap, I’ve never heard anybody utter a good word about him. I had the mis- fortune of crossing his path, just once, but it was more than enough. And likewise, I can’t remember his name. Just an unpleasant t it.

Can anyone tell me the point of those Michelin men sitting on top of the cabs? Always seemed to me to be a lot of trouble to go to (wiring etc) for very little gain.

‘Look at me’, ‘Look at me’.

That’d be right up Ro(wena)'s alley. I’ve asked him if he’ll come back on board but he’s had enough.

Yeah that’s why i posted it to try and tempt him

most truck autos are just automated clutch and gearshifts not torque converter type.

Yes, in this case I’m referring to “automated manual” boxes, not automatic types (torque converter or not). I should have made myself clearer.

That’s a generalisation too far: in certain applications (urban multi-drop bulk work) they’re acceptably okay. Instead of the useless exhaust brake, fit an electric retarder as urban bus fleets do.

Neil Magee was the man, owned a vatiety of businesses not just in transport, others more engineering and a few involved in photography. I’ve just put him into Companies House, hmmmm. He is still an active director, so still with us.

Ramone ffs you cant change your name to Rowena and just put a dress on and some makeup and call yourself a woman, always was Robert and if he’s still got balls he still is. That’s the problem with this world of today and everyone thinks its OK but not me, sorry but that’s how I am and surely not the only one who thinks like this, Buzzer.

Have I missed something here?
What’s been going on…
(Just being nosey and catching up on gossip here btw.:joy: )

I just put a photo of an ERF to tempt Robert back and get dragged into a trans reply.I too call a spade a spade (not sure i can say that) and call a ■■■■ in a frock exactly what it is … a bloke with issues

Identical thinking to me JD the worlds gone '■■■■■■ mad ! If a “person” has goolies he’s a bloke ! If they haven’t they are a Woman ! End of !

If I’ve got it right it’s just a discussion about something to do with sheep haulage with ERF’s or Atkis in Cumbria and how difficult it can be to work out what gender all the sheep choose to identify as and if it differs from the what the driver or shepherd thinks it is.
I might have missed something but SDU will be able to clarify it.
