Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 2)

G’ud day mate ! that saying has been around donkeys years up this end of the UK the Border Collie is claimed to be the finest sheep dog but some of my Farmer friends reckon a good Cur dog is the best. A Cur is not a recognised breed as such as they come in many sizes and colours whereas the Border collie is a breed and is usually black and white.
The only dogs in Leatherhead are mongerels both cannine and human !

I have heard there are many poodles in leafy suburbia.
Some react to dog whistles uttered by Russian trolls.

How did the F7 come into what was a genuine question to Bewick from Robroy regarding why he didn’t buy F86s.So now we are on the other side of the world pulling 100 tons with a F7 ffs.

The only thing CF pulls is his xxxx

A Morris Minor could pull an A triple, if it was low enough gered, but only Carryfast would be silly enough to try it.

Carryfast has been smoking his pot plants again. He couldn’t drive an S26, he’d be looking for the splitter on the 15 speed .

Unless it had an Allison auto of course, in which looking for the splitter would be like looking for a needle in the very haystack you didn’t lose the needle in

I had a Volvo F7 for a spell driving for Swift transport & you’re right, it was a comfy easy drive.

Is there beer? Is it proper time and half after 8 or 10? Am I expected to work Bank Holidays? Can I ■■■■ and pillage?

So many questions, so little time.

Whereabouts in Hockliffe was the changeover point, I remember seeing one of your Atki’s in John Osborns place at Tilsworth Turn a few times

I’m sure that Bewick didn’t buy the F86, over the 240 Atki, because it couldn’t pull an artic load as well and as economically as the Atki. Not because the Atki’s wheels wouldn’t fit the F86’s hubs and vice versa.

You’re really not getting this WW3 thing Bewick.

You should get an answer to all those questions after crossing the border before or at reaching your destination at Kursk.
They said something about stowing one round of HE and one round of AP because that’s all they could afford and all you’ll need.Contact Ivan after crossing the border who’ll tell you where the fuel and beer supplies will be if you can reach them.
Franglais is your TC his training consisted of watching the Battle of the Bulge and Kelly’s Heroes and an encouraging speech from comrade Starmer.

You’re confusing the S26 with the Commander Ro.

As opposed to you looking for the deep reduction switch on the F7, with a burnt out clutch, when it refused to move in the first of its 8 gears.

I’m not, CF. Some of the Rolls-powered 350bhp S26s had Allison five-speed auto boxes with torque-converters.

That makes no sense whatsoever, more so because I wouldn’t be caught dead in an F7.

WTF is he on about. It’s been quite sunny maybe he’s got sunstroke.

Another one who didn’t take the advice tut tut tut

There’s also some interesting references to torque converter and 15 speed Fuller.
