Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

10 August 1984
Grahams Truck Stop on the A38 at North Petherton, Somerset.
Christian Salvesen had a account here, it was one of the few places we could fuel up other than other Salvesen Depots.
They also had a short lived portacabin there staffed by a couple of guys to handle West Country traffic.
If i recall correctly ,this establishment struggled in vain to be allowed to erect signage pointing out its location near to J24 of the M5.
McDonald’s and the like never seemed to have the same problem.

Well done with the 500 Oily.!

Commented on this pic elsewhere, just how odd it looks without mudguards and side rails ,and single tyres.

I pay around 1.16 - 1.20 EUR for a litre of diesel at the moment in Germany.

Hi Pyewacket947v
If I stand on that spot next to a trailer the cant rail is level with my chest, a good 300 cm ( 12 in ) from my chin, he is either very short or that is a very high trailer.
Or : I am talking rubbish as normal, Harvey

That’s a hell of a sight cheaper than the UK at the moment, €1.16 is about £1.

Looks like a skel with container fridge sat upon it, so that’s why it would sit so high. Colin

This will take you back a bit and is for sale in Herefordshire, Buzzer
