Hi Eddie/Oily, The Cornish lorries bring back many memories, particularly from 1995 until 2012.
Either me,or one of my drivers would do a trip from here at Wigan to Pool, between Redruth and
Camborne every week. We delivered “Cut Fabric” to a factory at Wilson Way,next to the VOSA
MOT Testing Station, at Pool, and loaded finished goods, for delivery to Rugby on the way back.
The “Finished Goods” were Incontinence Knickers for the NHS. The regular lorries I would see
were Westfields, N.J.Grose,(Tippers), Conway Bailey, Samworths, and Ginsters Cornish Pasties.
Sometimes the journey would be,1st drop at Poole,Dorset, then Pool, Cornwall, and if there was
enough driving time left, another 17 miles to a drop at Long Rock, Penzance.
This Mercedes Benz 1820 N173 DWX, did the Cornwall trip many times during the 10 years I owned
it,from 2000 until 2010.

Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

A few Terberg’s.

He’s older than 37 though I

It’s Larrys reversible photo ,it’s really 73    :stuck_out_tongue:

X rated as well :open_mouth:, best take easy on the poor old fella, he’s just clocked up another milestone recently, wishing you many more ROF.
Oily

Thanks, Oily. Unfortunately, the “73” figure is almost accurate, although I’m still about 37 in my head!
By the way, if no-one’s heard yet, this year’s Speech House Vintage Gathering will be on 10th September. Have you applied for your visitor’s visa yet?

I’ve just found two interesting pictures. First, this Commer Chinese Six. Just a question: in ■■■■■■■■■■ the former name of ■■■■■■■■

and this MB 2419 BSC sugar tanker. A strange combination of a heavy 6x4 chassis with the narrow cab and 192 bhp OM 360 engine. Certainly never commercialised in France, but perhaps specially designed for the British market?

Froggy55:
Just a question: in ■■■■■■■■■■ the former name of ■■■■■■■■

■■■■■■■ was a new county created in 1974, Froggy. Lots of new counties were created during that reorganisation. ■■■■■■■ was made up out of ■■■■■■■■■■■ Westmorland and some bits of Lancashire and the West Riding of Yorkshire. I hope that helps! Robert

Thanks Robert! I see that my 1968 “Three Mile to One Inch road atlas” (Johnston & Bacon; Edinburgh & London) is outdated…
