Hi backsplice, A97 south of Huntly. 3 driven axles, only when they hit a packed cutting did they need assistance, as in the pic, shovel cutting/clearing gaps, reverse a distance, a race at it, this was the petrol engine 6 in line and on a cold frosty morning you could here them coming miles away. My dad used to sit of an evening heating his shovel on the open fire and then rub candle wax on it, goose fat or Dubbin on his boots, good old days…yes.

A Halley, at one time in serious competition with Albion, but for the early death of the founder, who knows what might have been.

Lovely set of pic’s Danne!
I’ve got a question though, everyone’s commenting about my wacky axle set-up on the trailer, but this one is a oddball as well…
What make is it? And is it fully steered?
Cheers, Patrick
Hi Oily, That is a great set of photos of the Mack snowplough in Alford Museum, your cab interior shot is almost identical to the one I took when visiting a few years ago, as the text states an AEC engine and a Leyland export style cab made by Bonalack. Note the Leyland Comet style instrument panel.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
