I noticed that the Octopus tanker had the light weight Albion drive axles so it probably had the 600 Leyland engine,just an observation Cheers Dennis.

The Floating light is now a private house bumper and the Horse & Jockey which was the next pub down is now derelict.

The Power Plus Octopus was restored by Johnnie Murphy one of the rally organisers, an ex Bristol Omnibus Company fuel tanker in National Bus Co days.

Slightly unusual ergo :confused: split screen, indicators are normally on front panel, this one has them on the sleeper panel, PTY (proprietary) says it is Australian.

The TS3 starting handle has me foxed, having driven them in their time, never came across one with a handle, though googling some pics there are one or two with starting handle access on the rad grilles :frowning:

When I was a lad, back in the days of Noah & the Ark, our local County Fire Service had a number of petrol-engine Commers, all with starting handle access.
