Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

Oilly you will have mind of this motor operated by A&C MACLENNAN CAPUTH PERTH this was scanned from a book TRUCKS by ALAN THOMAS who was a transport journalist at that time but he made quite a balls up with this. He claims in the photo caption that the vehicle was built and operated in Australia how with a B reg he worked that one out only he will know if anything I would say New-Zealand was more like our style of reg than Australia. But I have mind o this outfit did they not have more than one something runs in my mind they had at least two. Eddie.

Like you Ralph I miss those days, even when I struggled to make ends meet. The challenge of overcoming the problems, (financial and logistical) gave me such a buzz. To be honest I think that’s what I miss most. Ps. I’ll get the bike out and visit you again soon. Regards Kev.

Hi Eddie, I remember them well, seemed to run all hours. The outfits I mind on were Carter Engineered on Commer Avenger bus chassis 6 car wagon with 2 car pup trailer, a bit here about them archive.commercialmotor.com/arti … -carveyors
there’s also pictures in the Bob Tuck book Carrying Cargo and also some info on the Transporter thread. I did have at some time pictures of the NZ Leyland Leopard chassis transporter, must have a dig again.
