Stanfield:
A Oldie from Stoke on Trent0
Think this old girl survived, was’nt it owned by Kay transport and painted in Wednesbury tube livery?
Something different today, all to do with car racing at Crystal Palace cheers Buzzer.
Ah Brince Bira’s Maserati, previously owned by the American Whitney Straight. Not as successful with that as he was with the two ERA’s named Romulus and Remus (and a third, a 2 litre model named Hanuman) but he continued racing into the 1950’s driving an OSCAR. Died at a London Underground station from a heart attack I seem to recall? Nice pics.
Pete.
Another fine lot of pics from VALKYRIE, kevmac47, Leyland600, mappo, Stanfield, TIDDERSON and Buzzer
a few more from a recent trip.

Nice one erfguy, not seen that one before, between Maryburgh and Contin eh, could be at the Brahan Estate.

Oily as you left the roundabout at Maryburgh and went round a sweeping left hand bend it was the first house on the left I think it was the only one there is a wee road goes off to the right just after the house. That motor sat there for a number of years from 96 to 2000 that I know of I stopped one night and spoke to a gentleman and he said he was one of the ORMISTON family and the lorry had been used in the family Gunsmith business. Eddie.

Yes, Eddie, sweeping left hand slight incline, heading west, definitely on the Brahan Estate land and I can now picture the building.

I certainly hope so, I had a 350 MAC, Reg ABR 273 A 1948 model, I sold it to buy a Morris 10 car, I regretted it some years later,I had a Honda 50cc contraption just to play with, My two sons played with it in the back garden, Until the MaMar went Ape ■■■■, So it had to go sadley to say , But getting back to the old motorbikes I have cousin who lives at Berwick who as far as I know still has her Dads old Velo MSS 500, FXL 204, I remember her daddy my uncle Bobby telling me he went to London on the train to buy it, Now this was when the petrol rationing was in force, & He did have limited petrol coupons at that time & he ran out of fuel at Birtley just south of the Newcastle at 2.00.am & He pushed the Velo all the way home to Seaton Burn which would be about 12 miles, Regards Larry.
