Thanks to Jambox998, one of the better pics I’ve come across, no not the wagon, but the wee man checking the wheel studs, a future lorry man I’d say.

A mixed load of metal and wood
for William Clegg`s Scania , seen here , parked
at Truckhaven , Carnforth.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
William Clegg’s colour was red and every motor used to be painted and lettered before going on the road but nowadays they seem to just put some lettering on them a sign o the times ie. no money in it. A pity as its a very old firm. Eddie.
Hi Oily, Hanleys Aberdeen registered AEC Mercury is a genuine ex Munro’s wagon, a frequent attender of rallies these days down as far as the Dorset Steam Fair. Here is a snap I took at The Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust at Bridgeton in October 2013. Also a couple of Central SMT double deckers. Who remembers trying to beat them away from the traffic lights on London Rd Glasgow as they roared homewards to Motherwell and Hamilton in the evening rush hours.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
This will test you all ,what make is this truck ? Buzzer.
few from Oz
Thanks to cattle wagon man, erfguy, Leyland600 and Buzzer for the pics
Hi Leyland600, I well remember Brigtoun Cross and the policeman on Point Duty (very slick), on the way south from Linwood (W&D) he would see us approaching and gives us way. My experience of Bristol Loddekas was sitting spare in the canteen at Callander Riggs and a driver being late for his shift start and take over, the route bus was a new Loddeka, one of the worst buses I’ve ever driven, very heavy clutch and almost two handed gear changing, the tilted angle of the steering wheel needed getting used to as well, I was bloody glad when he turned up and took over.
Hi Buzzer, I reckon your brewery dray is a Ford Model TT, a couple of similar.
Oily
Thanks to tyneside and neversweat1 for the pics while looking at early Ford stuff, came across this with a steerable trailer axle in 1924.

Can any of you older drivers remember the old garage / filling station at the bottom of Lobley hill bank about opposite or close too the Wagon team pub, would think it was cleared to make way for the Western bypass early 1970s think it may have been owned by Deighton Bros. but not sure?.
Any photo of this garage would be good or history, I remember this as a kid now 57 I have googled it and looked on old Gateshead sites but can’t find anything.
cheers…

Well Crowbar is the man to ask as he bought Deighton Bros out & still has a Dennis in their livery which was used in the Katherine Cookson story called the Round Tower, Regards Larry.
