Ahh gorgeous gull wing rear mudguards
Gaydon June 2006 and Miles Fox’s lovely 1968/69 ERF LV - he very kindly let a big, daft 42 year old sit behind the wheel - just as I remembered them, especially when I shut the driver’s door (took me right back). I only wish he’d fired her up but locals had their washing out 3 miles away
PS the indicators were on big, long, black Lucas switches up by the sun visor as I recall …
Start 'em young - my nipper parking her AEC at Gaydon June 2007 - the pedals are operated via infra red in her sandals …

Very nice BUT, she’ll have a bad back when she gets a bit older unless she gets a bit of support behind it.

Hi Gardner 120, I started my daughter driving a Volvo WA 6x4when she was about 4 years old, sitting on my lap.
She will be 14 this month and drives my car or any car she can get her hands on around the country roads where we live.
She can parallel park, 3 point turn and hit 65mph in a heart beat. I feel more comfortable with Rhiann driving than her mother. She checks the oil/water, tyres and lights as well. Haven’t had a chance to get her changing a wheel yet, but will need to shortly.
Next year at 15 she will be able to get a learners permit and drive during daytime hours with an adult. At 16 she will get a full license, here in Florida.
Nice lot of pics again thanks to neversweat1 and Gardner 120
another Renault for you Steve, the T440, replacement for both Premium and Magnum, and with Volvo derived engines.

Grateful thanks to Pimlico Badger for these.

Scarborough Docks.
Crawford’s Biscuits were established in Leith. Edinburgh in 1813, then absorbed into United Biscuits in 1960.

Right, hands up all who remember shopping with our mothers and having biscuits weighed out of those square tins and put into paper bags. No plastic packaging in those days.
“a pound of broken biscuits please”. Happy days.
Sadly, yes
The square tins were handy for storing all sorts of things but were like gold dust. I think the shopkeepers must have been charged a deposit on them.
I remember tea and sugar being weighed out of bulk storage as well. And what about those blocks of salt, wrapped in coated paper which had to be broken down when you got home?
And butter out of big wooden tubs from Australia and New Zealand, weighed out and wrapped in greaseproof paper.

She’s a lucky young lady Paul!
Here are two ERFs I snapped at Corley Services in 1977 with my 13th birthday present, a Kodak Instamatic (with the stack of flash cubes). Back then, I felt embarrassed and self conscious taking photos of lorries - oh how I wished I’d snapped away …
