Fine and varied lot there Chris (adr) , the Bedford artic van, well that’s about as odd as gets  , I can just imagine access through a trapdoor, for the agile only, I guess, and with a comic connection , not a problem for Stan Laurel, but his mate Oliver Hardy, a definite no no.  .
Oily

Looks like there is only one mirror?

Hadn’t noticed that :open_mouth: , but I suppose with 2 nearside passengers high & low spotting for the driver, you’d have a job creeping up on him

i think pre war the legal requirement was 1 mirror , 1 wiper and one rear light , no idea when two rear lights became law though

I learnt to drive in a three tonner with one offside mirror.

didn’t realise you wereTHAT old harry !!

Hi Oily, I do not know if Richard Bannister’s AEC Mercury is the company’s original Mercury which I photographed in the British Oil & Cake Mills at Selby way back in 1954/5 when I rode as a boy with a local haulier friend who loaded out of there regularly. I had this photo for many years and now when I want it I can’t find it. I do hope this is the original wagon does anyone know.?

Cheers Leyland 600

Hi Jakdaw,
Harry has it about right, I have difficulty mentioning the name of such a :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: , oh for the resurrection of such a subhuman specimen and justice for those he harmed.
