I have owned my brace and bit set since 1957 bought for a £1 when I started my apprenticeship . I use it frequently especially when large diameter holes are required.
I’ve still got two of my Dad’s, including several bits (one only works clockwise).

The red and black liveried Volvo could almost be a spiritual descendant of an ERF LV.

F88 on a G plate, what was the UK’s offing? Leyland Ergo, 1950s style Atkinson, Guy Big J, Foden S40?

I like the 1953 Leyland comet conventional burton on trent registration ( possibly owned by one of the breweries in that town ) probably sold on to the liverpool haulier…I.rode in several like this as a kid flying machines in the day particularly coupled with an eaton two speed axle…only problem was you needed an airfield to stop them not air brakes until the late 1950 s.
