Remember it well Paul, an Albion Claymore which if memory serves me well I fitted a thermostat in its engine when the previous owner had it.

GOM do you remember Arthur Green from Bradford, used to see them all the time back in the day back & forth to Italy, did a trip every week and the motors hardly ever got cold, Buzzer

Those J2s were weird vans. Similar design to the Standard Atlas. Then the Transit came along and finished them all off pretty much!

Anyone else remember Puroh Milk ■■?
Remember it well, the factory was round the corner from my Grandmothers house in Walkergate, we also used it in the house for making tea. For those that don’t know, because I believe it was mainly a Northeastern milk brand, Puroh was a sterilised milk and didn’t come in the normal milk bottle shape with a wide neck, the bottles were more akin to beer bottles. It didn’t really taste nice with anything else except I recall my Mother made lovely rice pudding with it. Franky.

The top was a beer bottle type and IIRC the milk would keep without refrigeration. Tyneside

I remember them they had a depot In Rhodes Street just off Walker Road, I delivered some milk crates there that I loaded from a factory in Warrington when I worked for Baxters Road Services in the late 50s, Larry.

Never heard of that brand but it was sterilised (well that’s what we called it anyway) which is why it kept outside of a fridge. Can’t say I liked the taste much though.

Great eclectic mix. Mauritania, the most famous ship out of Tyneside?

As a kid in London we had sterilised milk sometimes. Not the brand mentioned though. It did come in slimmer, taller bottles and did have a particular taste. That I liked.

I remember seeing this ad for milk years ago but it’s just how I feel now, whenever I go out for a bottle of milk.
