we see the spar wag and drag when we on holiday up there . he drops his drag near rhiconich and does bervie stores , i think he picks it up again and goes to durness and then bettyhill . it seems a good job , but i wouldn’t fancy it in the winter .

A few years ago a Spar wag and drag driver decided to take a short cut over Hard Knott Pass in the Western Lake District and succeeded in getting well and truly stuckon one of the 1 in 6 hairpins which are tight in a car. I cannot recall the outcome but believe the trailer recovery was quite an interesting operation.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

There hasn’t been any photos in The Westmorland Gazette for a while, but when Sat/navs first appeared the stupid ■■■■■ were stuck everywhere, just type in “most direct way” from Barrow to Carlisle so as “the crow” fly’s it’s straight through the middle of the Lake District mountains by goat track!!I don’t recall many motors getting stuck years ago when maps and common sense were used !! The industry to-day is populated by “brain dead” zombies in the main, then again it’s the way things have moved on,Management and “planners” of to-day don’t want a driver that can think for himself do they !They just shout “jump” and the driver of to-day asks “how high” regardless of the consequences !! Bewick.

I know of two women who recently planned to travel from Carlisle to Dumfries and borrowed a sat nav, they were talking so hard at Gretna they missed both junctions, carried on in panic eventually being instructed to go via Lockerbie and Lochmaben until they got to the Dumfries by pass just beyond Heathall where they decided that they were hopelessly lost so turned round and retraced their steps as far back as Gretna and started again. Needless to say their appointment time was almost over by the time they got there. The person who related this tale said "They took too much notice of that blxxdy Tom that went with them !! What more can you say■■?

Happy Christmas. Leyland 600.

P.S If Santa brings me one I shall tell him to stick it in the same place as the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.

Sister in law set off in her car with tomtom, Dewsbury to NEC, Birmingham. Now that’s motorway and dual carriageway door to door. She finished up somewhere near East Midlands Airport…in a field…“take the next exit on the right” :open_mouth:
That’s NOT a joke, it actually happened.

me and my mate and wifes go to london weekend hes driving my car by fullers roundabout i said go this way he said no im listening to sat nav next thing lost i said now go my way straight to hotel crap sat nav. get homelondon congestion fine bloody coppers. and he didnt pay half regards rowland

It’s not the sat nav’s fault it’s the muppets using them
