Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

Can’t remember which thread the article about the vintage Volvo still working was on but I stumbled on this short video of it for anyone that may be interested.

Just found this one on a French forum. Probably the driver was busy with his smartphone, and it seems that the structure of the building is damaged, with a big crack above the shops. Would some of you have an idea about the place where it happened? UK or USA? Thanks.

There is a Belisha beacon (Google it if unsure what that is) by the pedestrian crossing in the background. So it is in the UK. But where exactly…

And something ‘Ales & Stouts’ on the wall.
Close one eh??, he could have demolished the pub…

UK as it’s a Courage brewery pub so possibly in the south of the country? Tram tracks as well.

Pete.

Gotta be UK with that Belisha beacon on the crossing. International were a chain of butchers in the south. The tram track looks more like a white line to me…

And before the mobile phone era I would think. So something else caught his attention. :unamused:

The law’s uniform looks like it could be Ireland or NI.

The signage on the building to the right looks like " Courage xxxxx Ales & Stout " Cheers, Mines a pint. Ray Smyth.

I had first read cottage, but it’s indeed definitely Courage; a brand of beer totally unknown in France, but I now remember it. Howeever, the driver was certainly rather in need of animal proteins rather than drink.

They are from Glasgow - still going strong. Taken at their premises in Great Western Rd.
