We seem to be getting a lot of photo’s now crossed over from another site and probably visa-versa, all those above I’ve just looked at on the British lorry nostalgia site, which also posts a lot of Peter Davies brilliant photo’s without any acknowledgment to him, something he’s not entirely happy with. Franky.
Why would that be Franky, as long as people are not making money out of his efforts? I know that I wouldn’t object to anyone using my photos, not many here but there are elsewhere, if they give others pleasure or useful information.

A Pickfords pantech with a bit missing.
From the curved rail in front, and of course the reg No
A 1977 Bedford TK 4x2, last taxed 1986
Would have been taken out of service in 1985 as Pickfords had a strict 8yr old and gone policy in those days - no matter the condition of the truck. I had a 7.5yr old one that done the engine in. Despite my protestations (the costs were debited against the branch whilst the sales receipts would be credited to head office) it was re-engined and gone 6 months later

I agree but you would maybe have to ask Peter that Spardo, I think he would just like some recognition as some posters put his pics on sites and others believe they are owned by the poster. There are also some that copy pics and sell them on sites like E-bay or shows/exhibitions. I think people may not realise photo’s are the copyright of the owner and shouldn’t really be used without their permission, just putting NMP doesn’t really cut it, although many are just happy with some recognition as to who the original belongs to. It has caused some upset on this other site I mentioned. Franky.

Fair enough, especially if someone was selling on.
BTW, saved you from the copyright police with my quote,
Thanks to pyewacket947v, DIG, Froggy55, Buzzer, vwvanman0 and coomsey for the photos
A load of Covent Garden porter’s baskets in the coomsey photo and the same firm in later years, credit to SCP for the photo.

Love the KM tipper, the name of the makers, or originators of that chassis-less style escapes me for the moment but I believe they also made car carriers (Oily?).
More stable than they looked they also had an added (accidental?) advantage. If you were stuck in mud, raising and lowering repeatedly with judicious setting and releasing of the brakes, trailer and unit alternately, ‘walked’ you out of the mire.
Hi Spardo, you’re thinking of Hoynor who also made cartransporter trailers who became Transporter Engineering then some other name I can’t remember still making along with others today’s multi deck trailers. archive.commercialmotor.com/art … -tc-outfit

Thanks that’s the one, I knew you would come up with the goods to defeat my ailing memory.
I’m sure I have used one at some point but for the life of me can’t remember where or when. I do know that, initially, the sight of all but the last axle rising from the ground and the trailer advancing towards you is alarming, but they certainly did the job.
“LAST ONE FOR OILY”
thanks Buzzer the wagon yes had a go in a 2stroke a time or two and the Perkins P6 engined ones both ok, but if you mean the stuff in the tank…not fussed I was always a beer man, sadly today the innards wont put up with it so it’s cups o tea.
