Not an A Series but it has the LV cab, the later A Series used a modified LV cab with setback front axle known as the 7LV, they often get mistaken and misnamed especially in multi wheeled rigids. The A Series was only produced as a tractor unit and four wheel rigid for drawbar use. Franky.

Hi Buzzer

This ERF looks like one of Davidsons of Coundon (near Bishop Auckland) They used to have a lot of Bedford KM four wheel tippers but then a younger family member took over and they moved onto more eight wheelers and artics, still all tippers. IIRC they took over the farm milk collection business (about 6 four wheel tankers) when Ridley Transport Allendale (Bill Hancock) packed in.
Davidsonโ€™s yard is still there but from what I know it is rented to various concerns and they no longer operate any vehicles,

Thanks Franky, I never get it right, hence the question mark in brackets.

Hi, At the age of 17, early in 1961, I joined the T.A. ( Territorial Army ), and not long after, I passed my driving test
on a Bedford S type 3 tonner. The most dreadful lorry to drive was the Commer Superpoise 4 tonner 4 wheel drive.
From memory, it had a 6 cylinder petrol engine, but for some reason it was flat out just around 40 m.p.h. I am glad
that I didnt have to drive it very often. I remained with the T.A., R.E.M.E. for the next 5 years. Cheers, Ray Smyth.
