The John Wakefield picture brings back memories, I remember shovelling the same stuff in my youth, in my part of the the country it was called draff (spent grain from the distillery) and used for cattle feed and free for carting away.

i remember my dad loading some Lamborghini tractors in the early/mid 80s from Italy, he got stopped at Mont Blanc (couldve been Frejus cant remember where he said) and got measured, was told he couldnt go thru as he was overheight, so he let some air out of the tractor tyres, and went on his merry way.

I remember doing that once down in Surrey somewhere with a load of cars(used) on a wagon and drag, they were Morris 1100s, still not enough, so the Hydrolastic suspension got pulled down as well and that worked, also, another time going into Kirkcaldy with a 5 car artic and having to take the cars off and re-load the other side of the bridge :blush:
