Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

I had one , came with my new bike er , a while ago . Front light was fine but blew bulbs for fun in the back light .

Yes I have seen them in museums, actually my grandfather had one on his bike when I was a kid in the fifties.

Pete.

Bet all you lot cut out a strip of cardboard and had it running on the spokes when you were kids making out it sounded like an engine, after a while I made one out of tin as when it rained the cardboard ones fell apart, good old days when we were youngen’s eh, Buzzer.

Good, quiet place to stop overnight or for a brew. Cool in the summer. I used to prefer The Frejus, even when not on ADR.

Who wants to have a mobile ā€œbrothelā€ aka Scania, if you can have this instead! ahum… coat…

I used to use the sole of my shoe against the spokes on my old Hercules to make a noise. Worked fine until I put my shoe in too far one day and went ar§e over t!t and hit the ground with on hell of a thud. I didn’t do it again…

Hi Dan

You do a cracking job on everything you do

Wish I had a workshop like that

Cheers
Rich

Hi Rich thank you ,it’s not my workshop where the trailer is ,it is the first time I’ve sent a chassis out to be done by others .we are going next week to build it up to fetch back ready for full re wire & new floor .cheers Dan .

Yes I concur with Rich Dan, I don’t know much about this sort of thing as in my time as a transport
manager I only ever bought new vehicles so how does this compare rebuilding something on this scale to buying something brand new and what’s its life expectancy afterwards?

Iam just a bit particular you could say ,buying something new I’am of mixed opinion really ,if I bought a new chassis I’d still have it painted .the more one looks at new stuff the more you see corners cut ,I had a new sprinter in 2019 they have only sprayed top coat where you can see :open_mouth:other areas are left in primer .
I do like knowing that failed parts will come off easy because I used grease last time
I like to keep vehicles & trailers a long time .

Based on Renault, that DAC, complete with slap-across syncro-shift. I know this because I got holed up with a Romanian in Holland once, with no prospect of loading until the next day. It was a bitterly cold January day so we sat in his cab and drank hooch. He’d latched onto me because I was driving an artic for a Dutch firm but on Belarus reg-plates and ā€˜Minsk’ on the door! So he assumed I was an EE driver. It confused him so much, he was forced to get the bottle out. It all went nicely downhill from there!

Tilt anyone?

I wonder what the badge above the n/s headlight on 618J reads, also has it a different front panel?
