Hi Andrew (pete359)
If you want, put this on the South Wales thread, chatted to the driver (at Johnstonebridge) on his way home to Cardiff, loaded with 1000kg bags of I think he said salt, mebbe sand (there was a fridge rattling nearby).

Been around a few months this, Left hand drive and registered Yorkshire way and just comes back as Renault.
So as said before it could be a newer Premium or new Magnum? Who knows

Love the pix, I worked for Stockton on Tees AEC main dealer J.L. Robson @ son & have very fond memories of the old MK 3’s & MK 5’s but the arrival of the tilt cab really was a godsend to us mechanics.
The old heavyweight gearbox on the Mk 2 & MK 3’s was a pig to haul in and out to change a clutch.
But OH! — the pix of the dreaded TK Bedford – YUK.
How we hated these things and trying to work under those little flaps at the back of the cab.
The TK had dry liners and the method of changing them at the time was to just hack the old liners to bits with a chisel, screwdrivers or anything else at hand as getting in to use a puller was almost impossible without removing the cab, butchery I know, but we were paid by bonus and also the truck operator always wanted his truck finished before we started on it.
Then clean out the block making sure there were no burrs from removing the liners.
The new liners were then shrunk in by putting them in a bath of liquid nitrogen and dropping them in smartish before they warmed up and jammed.
They then had to be bored out with a portable boring/honing machine and an internal micrometer - and nine times out of ten the engine would seize up on it’s first run.
The answer to this prob was to add a gallon of Redex to the engine oil and it usually had the desired effect.
The good old days, wern’t actually that good when the clouded memory clears and the rosy specs are removed.

Some show Fodens.
