Paper A 2 Z

Don’t A-Z’s and O-S maps exist ‘digitally’ now anyway??

Seen green laners use O-S maps on laptops strapped to the dash showing the ‘area and roads’, but NOT the ‘way to go’…

So…

Instead of being ‘navigated’ to a destination (led blindly??), you have the map in digital form showing the area, leaving you to decide the best route…

OS maps have been in digital form since the early 90’s, even the paper copies would have been printed from a digital master copy.

What some havent got is the fact a map doesnt go wrong or pack up like a sat nav can! No , a map maybe isnt always perfectly accurate but rely on a sat nav alone and its asking for problems, you could be stuck in the middle of nowhere on an unknown route when it packs up and not know where you are.Pull out the trusty dog eared old map and it would at least get you within spitting distance of your destination!
Probably like many many others on this forum ive navigated all over Europe with just a map pre navs and have always without fail managed to get there.
Far from being anti technology as i have a satnav but a map as back up is imo essential…well it is where i have to go sometimes at least…
