I’d call not being shot or bombed better than being in any war zone, even if I do have to self-cater.
As for why/where the media find these people, their “anonymous sources” are sometimes completely fabricated and don’t actually exist. In other cases, they keep interviewing people until they find one or two that support the extreme end of their agenda and just air those as if they are the only opinion out there.
Most media are not worth the time it takes to read/listen.
