Overhead Gantry Signs - what do you want?

Maybe the Leeds lads can figure this one, but why, at 2am in the morning do all 5 lanes flash ‘40’ on the signs as you come up out of Leeds on the M621 to where the A1 link merges and then once you get to the M62 they’ve gone

I don’t understand why we all need to do 40mph for a 1000 yards when there’s only you and half a dozen others within that 5 lane wide, 1000 yard stretch

Don’t forget the real ones round Glasgow which I just have to laugh at :
