Other work to do with an hgv license?

Mobile crane might be worth a shout.
I know a few training companies with a discount on right now, but the only rub of that is that the money on the cranes is made by working silly hours and time away from home.
It also helps if you have a background in the lifting game before you get in the seat.

Who would really prefer to travel to far flung places delivering freight when you can spend most of the day clearing drains etc driving a sewage sludge tanker ‘within the M25’ or spend most of the day erecting or striking loading/unloading scaffolding even more locally.Bonus points for 6 months on each rotating between both. :open_mouth:

There’s always snowplough work at airports. Some don’t even require a Class 1 licence since you are on private land.
There’s an agency called JBS who seem to get all the big airport snowplough contracts to provide staff but they are Ltd Co only.

Pay isn’t bad and if they call you in, you’re paid whether you’re drinking coffee in the terminal if it hasn’t snowed, or out driving up and down the taxi and runways, if it has snowed.

The work is a bit seasonal though…And you need to be able to get to the airport even in snow.

Which brings up road going snow ploughs/grittters…
